Re: Strawberries

Thanks, but it only partially answers my problem. I want to grow them more vertical to save space not just spread them out.
I appreciate the videos though, but is what I'm suggesting even possible?

Strawberries

My strawberries did really well this year. How do I propagate them? I want to create a large area and hopefully used some kind of ladder system to go up with them instead of out. Is this possible or do they have to be flat on the ground?

Stupid question

OK this may sound really stupid and somewhat gross. But I know you should not compost any manure from animals that eat meat. Just vegetarian animals like cows and rabbits etc. Okay, here's the weird question. What about vegetarian people? Can you not just compost the manure instead of filling the se...

Re: Homemade Fungus Spray

Does this stuff really work? I mean do you have any field testing data? I would love to try this as I lost all my broccoli plants last year to either bugs or a fungus.
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Balsa alternative

These trees interest me.
When do the seeds mature for collective? I want to plant a few but I heard they are invasive. I would like to collect the pods just before they open and spread. Anyone know what time of year that is?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Potting soil compact

Wild, I looked up promix-bx. Home depot has a soil mix but it's $7.47 for 2 cu ft.
It's made by Miracle grow.
I don't think it's the same.

Re: Potting soil compact

Wild, what is the consistency of this promix? I ask because it's hard to find a balance between holding water and not being too compact.

Re: Corn, Row plant?

I did a google on inbreeding depression.
I hadn't heard about that before but it sounds logical. I always assumed it didn't matter how many plants you grew, you just saved seeds.
I'll have to research this more.

Transplanting

When is it too late to transplant tomatoes? I ask, because I've discovered my pots are too small. They're in 8" pots now. I have 4 tomatoes on one plant but it's not healthy. I am growing determinates which only reach 2' anyways so I thought these pots would do. Wrong I guess. Can I transplant ...

My Cream sausage grown indoors has only 1 tomato on it.
It does not appear to be producing any more any time soon.
What happened?

Re: Fuji Pllinator

Thanks
I've been fighting this decomposed granite but found a soft spot on the south side of my property.
The problem is, it's about 100' from my fuji.
Maybe I'll try Jonagold. I saw them on sale at the local grange for $29.99

Garlic, how tall?

I planted my garlic mid October. It is only about 1" above the soil. Is this normal? It seems kind of small.
Should I be worried?

Inconsistent tomato seedlings

Hi everyone. I've been trying to figure out what's going with my tomato seedlings that I have growing under fluorescent lights in a south window. If you look at the two in the photo, the one on the left (tiny tiger) and the one on the right (green sausage) they are not growing at the same rate. The ...
